Background[]
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby is a 2006 feature film starring comedians Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. The movies is about NASCAR driver Ricky Bobby who stays atop the heap thanks to a pact with his best friend and teammate, Cal Naughton, Jr. But when a French Formula One driver, makes his way up the ladder, Ricky Bobby's talent and devotion are put to the test.
Summit Controversy[]
One day on the summit the movie was brought into conversation. It resulted in various members posting images from the film. Moderator 14theroad took offense to the use of the movie in conversation. He therefore banned members for 1 hour for talking about it.
One occasion started when member ScarySmurf asked to be banned so he can work on a paper. PtvnSux94 offered to help him by "fix'd"-ing his post by including a picture of Talladega Nights. However, PtvnSux94 was banned for an hour instead of ScarySmurf.
Legacy and Fake Accounts[]
Not wanting to spend an hour away from his beloved summit, Ptvn created a fake account called "GotBannedForTN". 14theroad liked the new account and suggested the password should be shared so anyone can use it when they get banned. The password was "14isadick". On the same day that this occured news broke that legendary punk figure, Ben Weasel was banned from all House Of Blues around the country. This lead to the signature of the fake account containing images that spelled out "PtvnSux94 is to the Orgsummit as Ben Weasel is to the House Of Blues." For record accuracy, it should be noted that 14theroad was nearly always intoxicated during this period. Thus leaning to the aforementioned events enjoyed by all.
While using the account later on, Kevgren was banned for mentioning Talladega Nights. He therefore created a new fake account, named "banned_now_i_am_victim" where he talked as orgsummit member Victim.
The controversy over this film also lead to the fake account, "RickyBobby" This account posted just as the character in the movie would have. It too was also nominated for Best Fake Poster in the 2010 Summit Awards.
Summit Awards 2010[]
All three fake accounts that were created as a result of the Talladega Nights controversy were nominated for Best Fake Poster in the 2010 Summit Awards. However, they would all lose out to "BobIce"
